One of the features that is considered in akoya pearl jewelry, is their roundness and perfection. These well known pearls range in size from 6.5mm to 9.5mm, with 7.5mm being our most popular size. The akoya pearl is given to that "sweet 16", the new bride, that new career woman, for a promotion , for the June Birthstone, or any time someone wants to say, "I love you."

Sometimes called Tahitian Black pearls, this pearl is black sometimes; but, most of the time this fabulous pearl can be everything from a pewter color to a rich aubergine, and then from a red to a dark peacock gree. Tahitian pearl jewelry always has a fantastic luster and radiance. Tahitian Pearls range in size from 9.5mm to 14mm and up to their record size of 22mm(very rare). If you see pearls advertised as Tahitians in the smaller sizes they are probably not Tahitian pearls. Tahitian Pearls are the only naturally colored "black" pearls.

Some other stores carry a low quality of freshwater pearl. The freshwater pearls shown hear are the multicolored, we carry everything from a very fine white to black and all in between.
